share agreement

I commit to membership in Farm Spot, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) in Jackson Heights, for the 2020 Summer season starting June 4th, 2020 and ending on November 12th, 2020.

As a member, I understand that this is a community project and as such, my combined share members will commit to a minimum of 4 hours of time (two shifts) to volunteering for the CSA*. I understand that distribution occurs on the dates listed for each subscription and that I am responsible for arranging to pick up my share(s) at St. Mark’s Church at 33-50 82nd Street on Thursdays between 5:30 and 8:15pm. *Volunteering requirements have been modified to ensure everyone’s safety during the outbreak of Covid-19. Please see the Volunteering FAQs for more info.

I understand that if I do not pick up my share, it will be donated appropriately. I do not expect to have my share saved.

As a member of the CSA I understand that the shares will vary in size and weight depending on the time of the season. I understand that the variety of vegetables, fruits or meat/dairy I receive is dependent on growing conditions that vary from season to season and that I share the risks and benefits of the harvest.

I understand that it is my responsibility to stay informed of CSA announcements each week either through e-mail, the Farm Spot website or at the distribution site.

subsidized members:
The income of all adults in this share falls into the income guidelines outlined by Farm Spot for the share option I am purchasing.

If I sign up for a payment plan I will ensure that my payments are complete by the end of the payment period. Should there be any problem with my scheduled payments, I will contact Farm Spot as soon as possible to make sure an alternate payment method is set up to finish out paying my balance.

If there are weeks that I am away and plan on selling my share I will either sell at the purchase price for those weeks to a family in the same financial circumstances or sell at the full-price Farm Spot share price and donate the difference to the subsidized share fund.
