The first distribution is Thursday, June 15th and runs through October 26th.

We are announcing sign ups for our 2023 season! Also, a reminder that the Meet the Farmers event hosted by the Sunnyside CSA at Sunnyside Community Services (43-31 39th St. at Queens Blvd. 40th St. stop on the 7 train) is on Monday, April 3rd at 7pm. Come meet our farmers from Angel Family Farm and ask them any questions. All are welcome!
This is the link to sign up for the 2023 share, deadline for signup is by May 31st. This year the price of the vegetable share remains the same at $700 for the 20 week share. If you don’t want to buy a full share, please consider splitting a share with a friend/neighbor. We have a very limited amount of subsidized shares available on a honor system/first come basis. As you may know, we run on extremely slim margins in order to keep the price for the share affordable and to be able to offer a very limited amount of subsidized shares to community members in need. Please consider making a donation to Farm Spot so that we can fundraise for subsidized shares.
Sign up for a 2023 vegetable share here!

Volunteer shifts: The requirement for membership will still be two shifts per share. We are 100% volunteer run and really value the time that you spend helping to make this happen in our neighborhood. Please remember that volunteering is part of your responsibility as a Farm Spot member. Megan, our volunteer coordinator, will email with details about volunteer sign ups. As a note, two households splitting a share are required to do a combined two shifts in total.
We thank Megan for her hard work and service as Volunteer Coordinator for the past few years and are currently looking to pass the torch to another member who would like to step into this role. Please email farmspot@gmail.com if you are interested to volunteer as a core member.
Splitting shares: In past years, Farm Spot has encouraged members to look for share partners on social media and community message boards. People have been known to find share partners on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/farmspotcsa/). If you cannot find a share on your own, please email farmspot@gmail.com and we will do our best to match you with a share partner.
Unclaimed Shares: Shares must be picked up each week between 5:30 – 8:00pm. If you can’t make it, feel free to ask a friend or neighbor to pick up your share. Farm Spot is not able to store unclaimed shares, all unclaimed shares will be donated.
Thank you for reading this all the way through, we look forward to our upcoming season!
If you know anyone that might be interested, please forward this link.

Farm Spot remains committed to making our CSA financially accessible to our neighbors, and we are once again able to offer subsidized shares for the upcoming season. The subsidies are funded by your fellow Farm Spot members. This year we’ve made some changes to the qualifications to increase access for people needing more financial assistance, so please read the following carefully before submitting your registration.
Subsidized shares are now available at two levels, depending on your income:
Share A, at a cost of $461.40 is for people who fit into the guidelines adapted from the Self-Sufficiency Standard for the City of New York: One Adult: $27,919• One Adult, One child: $47,854• One Adult, Two Children: $62,420• Two Adults, Two Children: $68,175. A minimum of a $75 deposit is required upon registration, and you may pay the balance in full or by monthly installments during the six months of the growing season at $50 per month.
Share B, at a cost of $274.85 is for people who fit into the guidelines based on the WIC program by the size of each household: One person: $21,775 • Two people: $29,471 • Three people: $37,167 • Four people: $44,863 (for families of five and up, add +7,696 per person). A minimum of a $50 deposit is required upon registration, and you may pay the balance in full or by monthly installments during the six months of the growing season at $50.00 per month.
Income verification is on the honor system — we won’t ask for proof of your income. If you have substantial resources beyond earned income, please be mindful of those who don’t and purchase a full-priced share instead. We cannot offer discounts on any share other than the vegetable share.
To maximize the subsidized shares, we ask that you split the share with another share member who also fits the same income guidelines as you if you have a smaller family size (which many Farm Spot families typically do due to the bounty of the share, especially during peak season). We may be able to match you up for the subsidized shares ONLY provided they are still available. To sign up, please complete an application and check the appropriate box for a subsidized share.
For more information or to find a share partner, e-mail us at farmspot@gmail.com

Hi everyone,

Please email me if you’re interested in being opening distributor supervisor. Cheers!

Folks,
We’re still in need of a few more volunteers for this Thursday, and please don’t feel shy about signing up for future dates. It really does take all of us to keep distribution running smoothly.
Here’s that sign-up link: http://signup.com/go/CZEfsK
Let me know if you have questions.
Cheers!

Sorry, one more thing! We need a boxes volunteer. Here is the description:
Box volunteer will be responsible for putting boxes from Lewis Waite deliveries out in a specific pick up spot at the church. This job takes about 10 minutes each time. It must be done every two weeks (the weeks that Lewis Waite delivers). It must be done at specific times, either the Wed night before delivery, or Thurs morning of delivery day before 8:30am. It’s an important job because our storage shed gets very crowded, and also the farm needs to get their boxes back because they re-use them! The reason we need to put them out is because there is a pre-school that uses the church during the day and no one is allowed on the premises during the school day. This volunteer job will fulfill the volunteer requirement for the season.
Of course volunteering for this task means you are exempt from the shift requirements. Please email me if you can help. Thank you.

Hello fellow farmspotters,
For today’s distribution, we are still in need of a compost volunteer during the early shift.
Please note there is a new link to sign up: http://signup.com/go/CZEfsK
Hope you can help today and continue to sign up for shifts throughout the season. Remember each share requires two shifts, which means one shift per share-partner if you’re sharing your share.
Email with questions! Thanks, all.
